Red Rock Café

Lennox Head, NSW 2478

Lennox Head is a beautiful beachside village in Northern NSW,
located between Ballina and Byron Bay. It is a friendly and affordable
holiday location, particularly for families and the recent upgrade
of the Pacific Highway has made it a comfortable hour and a half
drive from the Gold Coast.

Right on the main street is the Red Rock Café opened in
August 2002. Trevor Sleep, the owner, has created a wonderful atmosphere
with relaxing music, friendly staff, air-conditioned interior with
a couple of lounges – a welcome escape from the heat of summer
and ideal for those wanting to relax with a magazine and a cup
of coffee – and a great outdoor seating area which is a popular
spot for watching the passing parade and enjoying the (mostly)
good weather !
The food is both fabulous and affordable. They make almost everything
from scratch including all their sauces, dressings and relishes
and desserts. They serve all the usual suspects for breakfast plus
some specialties like fluffy pancakes, cinnamon french toast and
corn fritters with poached eggs and mango relish. The lunch menu
ranges from a BLT through to pan fried atlantic salmon served on
rosti potato and baby spinach. They also cater to vegetarians and
have gluten free desserts available.

Michelle, Trevor and Hayley
Trevor was a Belaroma coffee enthusiast from his days of living
and working in Sydney so when he opened the Red Rock he contacted
the local distributor, Absolute Espresso, and with their reliable
service and support has been serving the S10 blend from day one. “This
is a great blend, with no harsh or bitter edge, a wonderful mouth
feel, and my customers certainly love it !” comments Trevor, “We
are constantly being complimented on how good our coffee tastes.
Of course it’s important to have skilled baristas but the
consistency of Belaroma’s product makes it excellent to work
with”.
Red Rock attracts a good mix of locals and visitors. During peak
seasons they cater for lots of tourists – this is also an
internet café - including a growing number of day trippers
from the Gold Coast. The café’s success and popularity
is reflected in its inclusion in the latest edition of the Lonely
Planet.
The Red Rock Café is open 7 days a week from 7.30 am to
3.00 pm for both breakfast and lunch. They also serve breakfast
all day for the late risers !
