The Northern Beaches are one of Sydney’s treasures, stretching from Manly to Palm Beach, this is an area of spectacular scenery and beautiful beaches. Locals and visitors alike enjoy taking in the panoramic views from the lookouts up and down the coast, cruising the Hawkesbury, surfing at Manly Beach, kayaking on Narrabeen Lake, and relishing the strong café culture in the area.

Tucked away in the heart of the Northern Beaches is Wheeler Heights and it’s here you can find a long term customer of Belaroma, Made @ Lukes. For the last four years we have proudly supplied Luke with Belaroma Coffee and watched his Italian family business grow. It has blossomed from a simple fruit and veg shop to a well patronised deli. A café owner would only put their name to their business if they are proud of what they do and, according to many locals, Luke can be proud of the business he and his family have grown. Aside from wholesaling quality fruit and veg, Made @ Lukes is a mecca for fine cheese and meats plus freshly made sandwiches, pastas and lasagnas. As well as preparing food for the deli, Luke says the kitchen is always a busy place as outside catering has evolved into a major part of the business. Luke explains that all food is made on site from the best ingredients, in many cases using old family recipes.  

Luke also explains why he continues to serve Belaroma coffee, and his chosen blend S10. He realizes that if he is selling great produce he has to serve quality across the board and Belaroma fits in very well with his offerings, “Our customer base is from the local area, and they are very faithful about their daily coffee(s). The machine is pumping coffee from 6:30am when we open until late in the afternoon. Many customers pass several cafés on their way to work, whether they are staying local or traveling to the city, however they choose to stop and get coffee from us. To me that tells a story and I would have a revolt if I ever changed brands” Luke laughs.

One of the things that becomes apparent very quickly is that everyone is relaxed and happy to be there. Luke and his staff have to take the credit for creating a nice atmosphere, providing great customer service and consistently providing top notch food offerings.
