Davide Salmeri, the owner, was born in Italy, and has brought inherent Italian flare together with many years experience working as an architect and interior designer, to the design of the café to create a statement in sophistication. Davide imported all the design features from Italy, including the white leather seats, the granite finish walls and the sliding mirror doors. It’s often been said you could be in Florence when you step through the doors of Dolcini and, similarly, those that visit are drawn back again and again.

Since opening Dolcini in 2004, Davide and Trish have doubled their business year on year. Dolcini attracts both young and old and is increasingly becoming recognised as a family oriented venue.

The food offerings are typically Italian with a slant towards grilled seafood. Like the café décor, the food is wonderfully presented and the perfectly sized meals have all the taste and flavor you would hope for.

The family business extends further than excellent coffee and food; Denise, Davide’s sister, produces 6000 Gluten Free Biscotti every week, wholesaling to 85 Sydney based businesses. If you leave without trying a Pistachio with Belgium White Chocolate Biscotti, you will have done yourself a disservice!

Making seriously good coffee at Dolcini CafeImportantly, Davide recognizes that great food and great coffee complement each other which is why Belaroma have worked with Davide and his team to make sure his blend of choice, Octavia, is extracted superbly every time. Octavia is an exceptionally lightly roasted coffee blended with beans from Costa Rica, Sumatra, Colombian and Nicaragua. It is highly regarded in the coffee industry as one of the premier light roasted coffees with plenty of body and subtle nuances, creating a very pleasant after taste.
