Lismore, in the heart of the Northern Rivers region of NSW, was originally established as a Timber Town and is now the area’s commercial and cultural hub. It is home to the Southern Cross University, boasts one of the state’s oldest regional art galleries, and buzzes with colourful markets and lively festivals and events. The town is on the doorstep of some of Australia’s most spectacular National Parks and State Forests and the stunning beaches of Byron Bay and Ballina are just 30 minutes away.
The town has a fascinating network of laneways and arcades, and in the Lismore Arcade in Molesworth Street, nestled amongst the boutique shops, you’ll find Coffee Shots, opened by Peter in 2005.

As an entrepreneur who had owned an extremely successful café in the past, he was disappointed in the quality of the coffee in Lismore and saw this as an opportunity to create a new venue serving coffee of the highest standard. Peter selected Belaroma’s Octavia blend and is convinced he now serves the best coffee in Lismore. “Octavia is an extremely smooth blend with a “clean” flavour and a lingering aftertaste. I haven’t come across another coffee brand as good as this”. As he established this new business, Peter has appreciated Belaroma’s support and service: “The Belaroma Distributors, Absolute Espresso, are only ever a phone call away. Maurizio has been very helpful with new ideas to promote and drive our coffee business”.
Coffee Shots has a relaxed feel with modern décor and cool air conditioning, offering a comfortable and stylish venue for those taking a break from their browsing and shopping. It’s also a welcome respite for the locals who work in Lismore Arcade and the surrounding offices. Frankly, the smell of the freshly ground Belaroma coffee wafting down the arcade is hard to resist ! In fact the response to Coffee Shots has been so overwhelming that Peter has plans to open another branch of Coffee Shots near the Courthouse Police Station Precinct in the very near future !
The cafe serves a variety of tasty, fresh foods that require little preparation, which saves customers a lot of time as they don’t have to wait long for service. They can choose from a wide range of sandwiches, baguettes and Turkish breads with various fillings such as chicken, avocado and salad as well as delicious cakes and slices. The macadamia muffins and slices have proven a big hit with the regulars.
Coffee Shots seats approximately 40 people with a bar style counter with stools, as well as tables indoors and a few that spill out into the arcade. It’s open from 7am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday and from 7am to 12:30 pm on Saturday and parking is available along Molesworth Street.
